Ncell, Axiata must pay Rs 38 billion tax: Supreme Court Reporter

The Supreme Court has issued an order asking both Ncell and Malaysian company Axiata to pay the capital gains tax of Rs 38 billion to Nepal government. The SC issued the order regarding the case on which company was to pay the capital gains tax over sale of Ncell. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has granted permission to the Himalayan Urja Bikash Company Ltd to issue the initial public offerings (IPOs) worth Rs 148.5 million. NT launches pre-paid roaming service, to be available in China, India from today Reporter

Nepal Telecom (NT) has introduced the roaming service for pre-paid mobile also. Prior to this, the service was available only in post-paid mobile phones. In case of outside the country, the pre-paid mobile roaming service will be available in India and China right from today. The NC has begun the 'out-bound roaming’ service. The Nepal Bureau of Standards and Metrology has so far provided Nepal Standard (NS) certification to 369 products manufactured by 250 different industries at home and abroad. Twenty five goods produced by 71 cement factories, 25 goods from 25 steel bar factories, 23 products from 23 PVC cable, 10 products from 10 LPG, 13 products from 12 PVC pipe factories and 29 goods from 29 HTPD pipes among others were granted the NS mark as those goods met the criteria.
